RE: bogs down

hm i see what you're saying...but (as far as ive seen) past peak power your power drops down. so when you're at 7-8k you're making the power of around 4 or 5k. so i figure why destroy your engine when you could drop back down to 4/5k, have the same power as you would at 7/8k, and not harm your engine?

Yeah, going WAY past peak power is stupid...

If someone really wants to get down to the nitty gritty, you have to sit down with your dyno curve and look at your gear ratios to set up shift points for your highest AVERAGE hp for each gear... depending on mods, it may be that you shift shortly after hitting peak (if your curve drops off steeply) or if you have a flatter curve, you'd want to center it etc...

I don't know about anyone else but i didn't see where he said he was racing when shifting... i think he meant when he is just driving,

and as for the shifting past peak power, in cars with Vtec if you go higher into the rpms then when you shift into next gear you are just entering Vtec again so your making max power again, i think that is what pWnEdU was trying to say...

RE: bogs down

well I looked at the air filter and yes indeed it was dirty. I didnt change it because im debating on getting an intake so I will know for sure in a week or so.

Also I think it will be a good idea to change the gas filter since I have no clue if it has ever been changed.
As Fiirkan said Im not talking about racing and yes when I jump on it hard and shift at a higher RPM I dont feel the sluggishness, the power continues onto the next gear it just when Im cruisng at low speeds and mostly when im coming to 2nd from 1st. What Chimera said is what I will do first and see what the outcome is...
Anyone know where the gas filter is located...? in the tank or by the engine..?
Thanks....
