You'll never decipher those numbers unless you do a lot of reading/studying. Most companies will liist them in "stages." Stage1 being mild, stage3 being wild. With a turbo, you dont' want to much lift becasue the boost will just blow right through the cylinder, but with NA, go for it. Most people don't want more than a stage2 for the street becasue of terrible idles and other inconveniences. I personally have never seen or heard a Civic with a stage3, but that would be rad. If you go more than a stage1 you will have to get upgraded valve springs and retainers, which will be at least as expoensive as the camshaft itself.

From what I hear, Crower is the authority on Honda camshafts, but that's just hearsay.

Crower
Skunk2
Jun
Toda
Spoon
Mugen
those are the first ones that come to mind, but the last four are really pricey. another alternative is type r cams, which can be run with minor valvespring upgrades, and are a nice power gain over stock.

I would like to get a turbo but I don't think its coming anytime soon but what kind of power gain are we talkin about with stage 1? Also what gain with type r's? By type r's do you mean from an integra type r?

Personally since the all stage cams basically cost the same I think buying stage 1 cams is a waste of money.

Yea but I'm a teenager and I do make the most money in my grade among the kids that work in my grade. Dam kids and their rich parents spoiling them! Valve springs and retainers are expensive and I just bought the car. I put alot of money down and my parents keep their eyes on my spending especially on my car.

Well if you are really keen on cams why not wait till you can purchase the turbo, cams, and valvesprings all at once. Or search ebay for a set of type-r's for now and sell them again when you save up enough.
