If you do anything besides the K20 you won't pass an emissions test(if you live somewhere where testing is strict).

woah woah guys woah.

first off theres no putting an evo engine in these cars. youd have better luck trying to put a B in..and thats only been accomplished twice that i know of.

second theres no such thing as a 'ford ztec'

third the engine in the s2000 isnt a k20. 1st gen s2000 is the f20c and the 2nd gen is the f22c.

fourth...the K20 comes in these cars:
-02-05 USDM Civic Si: K20A3 160hp
-02-05 USDM Acura RSX type-S: K20A2 200hp
-??-02 JDM Acura Integra TypeR: K20A 220hp
-06-?? USDM Civic Si: K20Z 197hp

they come in other cars but those are the major four and the main cars you will find them in in the states.

first off...the K20Z is out of the question. period.

secondly...youd have some hard luck finding a complete K20A engine swap and getting it in for under 6k.

so your two main options are the A2 and A3. personally im not a big fan of the A3 but it is the easiest to get your hands on (someone correct me if im wrong but it also comes in the base RSX) and generally cheaper...but IMO it'd be worth it if you could find the A2. its not much more espensive and worth the extra fifteen minutes on ebay.

I myself would go with the A2 also. Check out K20a.org if you are really interested. The guys over there can tell you anything and everything about the swap you might want to do.

Ok, so then my best option is the k20A2? But I'm better off with the A2 than any other A's (is what I got from what you guys said)... So if the A2 is a version of the k20 then that means that if I ever wanted to upgrade later to a higher model or something of that sort the switch would be a lot easier? If I got the A2 would I even need to switch in the future if a turbo is added ontop of the new engine?

no you wouldnt need to swap for anything else. however....if you can find the JDM K20A for a price you're willing to pay....id jump all over it.

What about swapping the head on the D17A1 for a D17A2 head? That should give you a bit more power for not too much money...

There is a ford zetec engine, it has two "e"'s. They suck. (and yes, I can back that up)

Now that I think about it, will an earlier head (say, D16z6) fit on the D17? You might have some trouble with compression ratio and a few other things, but a z6 head would be easier to find and a heck of a lot cheaper. The D17a2 head probably flows better, though...
