Okay I've seen this d16y8 letter/number combination and I was wondering what exactly you need that for and what it is exactly? I'm guessing it has something to do with the engine and I'm really sorry if this is a beyond stupid question but I would like to know.

 

It is just like a type of serial number type thing to tell you what engine you have. If you want to read more check this site out and it will go through all the different engines.
