This happened like a year ago, and I never posted it.

But I was driving from austin,Tx to Dallas,Tx , its about a 3 hour trip!

I was driving about 90 or so for about an hour, then I had to get gas. And to this point Ive noticed nothing wrong,but as soon as I push in the clutch, it starts shaking like crazy(clutch pedal).
So I turned the down music from blasting, and It sounded like a piston was going up and down hitting the head! too me. Im not that well with engines!
So I turned it off looked under, nothing had busted under the hood, nothing was leaking. Now Keep in mind I had no cell, and in middle of nowhere. So I tryed to start It back up,and it did, I had to jam it in gear, literally slam it..clutch pedal was going crazy, the motor sounded ****dd..but that 97 Honda CIVIc DX made it another 2 hours of driving at 80, all the way home to the driveway..with a tourqued off crankshaft inside!

 

how did the crank break

 

Somewhere between the 1st hour.I have no idea how.
When I got home I parked it and then took it too the shop and the crank was is in two pieces.

 

just goes to show you how hondas are really tough and can still run even with a broken in half crankshaft.... did you snag any pics?

 

its hard to belive, but anything is possible. i ran my del sol on the pistons with a hole in the block, and #2 in my hand

 

did you notice if the idiot (oil pressure light) on at all? if so did it start knockin at all?

 

man thats some crazy ****. im pretty sure the CFT Civic is running a stock crank...and its putting over 750hp to the ground...

 

that is insane...
