isnt it a complete replacement or do i have to modify the wiring? i thought i would just have to pull the old engine and ecu a/c unit etc and install the new engine ecu a/c unit etc.

you need to re-wire and you might have to drill a hole in your firewall. IMO it would be easier to swap in a z6.

Don't bother with a 5G engine in a 4G. Just put in a SOHC ZC (yes, it has VTEC). Your life will be much easier, and you'll end up with more power than a Z6 or a Y8. And no, the parts are not that hard to find. Any ZC site will give you a list of all the Honda part numbers.
