RE: d16 potential
Here is some stock # for ya
92-95 Si D16Z6 5G - EH 1590 9.2 : 1 125 @ 6600 rpm 106 lb/ft @ 5200 rpm Intake valve diameter: 30 Exhaust valve diameter: 26 head cc's : 34.6 c/r :9.2 bore:75 stroke:90 single cylinder:397.61 total engine displacement: 1590.43 con rod lengthcon rod ratio:1.52 92-95 Si R Si R 2 B16A 5G - EG 1595 10.4 : 1 168 @ 7800 rpm 116 lb/ft @ 7300 rpm Intake valve diameter: 33 Exhaust valve diameter: 28 head cc's : 42.7 c/r :10.2 bore: 81 stroke:77 single cylinder:396.78 total engine displacement: 1587.12 con rod lengthcon rod ratio:1.74 The lower compression on the z6 is better for turbo but the b16 has more horse power to start off with like 40 more hp over z6.With a built d16 you can achieve over 400hp.I say stay with you d-series |
RE: d16 potential
a fully built d can see over 300 whp with a good tune. and be reliable for a long time if its not abused and its built correctly

RE: d16 potential
keep the d the b16 is a torqueless motor

RE: d16 potential
I have seen 600 to 650whp out of them built on vids, used to talk to a guy that had one built and boost dailr driven tuned and made around 450whp, and there is a thread floating around jeff evans forum of one that is bone stock and boosted making like 310whp and is daily driven.
