Default D16-Y7 what mods best bang 4 buck?

I already have a Fokuz intake and a Volt muffler.
What other mods should I go with next to get more umph out of my car?

I've got a '96 DX with a non-vtech D16y7 with a manual in it.
any ideas?

That muffler you got wont do anything so a new cat back wouldn't hurt. You can add a new intake manifold, throttle body (not spacer), header, catback, flywheel, cams, pulley and camshaft. All these are good and should add a good amout of hp but adding up all the price for these will add up to a price of a turbo. So your better off buying a turbo or doing a engine swap.

My cat hangs off my manifold...I'd need a whole new exh/system.

unfortunately theres not much you can do to a D series other than turbo. What you should do if you dont wanna do an engine swap is get an exhaust, stick with ur intake, either change ur ECU to run a little richer or get a new ecu or an ecu piggyback then turbo.

Some ppl might say 'dood get it performance sleeved and put aftermarket cams pistons and get an aftermarket cam and valvetrain then an intake manifold plus a massive throttle body. then turbo and u'll be set' the sad thing is in reality after doing this u'll be at the price of the B18C1. so unless you're ok with just getting an IM, exhaust, and turbo, you'd be best with an engine swap...but i know you didnt wanna hear that.
