I currently have a 97 Civic Dx its got the D16y7(106hp) and I was planing on doing a mini-me and turning it into a D16y8(127hp@6600). Today I was told by a kid that he is junking his 1990 Acura Integra LS with a B18A1 (130hp@6000) the engine runs fine and im pretty sure that he would almost give me the engine and whatever else I need I was wondering what it would take to put that engine in my car. Or if it would be more to my benifit to just do the mini-me and if it is possible to make the b18a1 into a vtec motor making even more power?

 

no brainer, take the b18 if he is gunna give it to you, or give it to you for cheap

 

x2. take the b18 and slap a b16 or gsr head on it and call it a day. ls/vtec ftw!

ok so im gettin the b18 what will it take to put it in? Is it like the d series where I could put any b18 head on it? Because all of the vtec ones are all makin around 200hp

 

you will the need the rear mount bracket for the rear from an si im not sure if the integras have them the same way i think they do. try to find a b16 hydro tranny that will make some difference as well. and not all vtec motor make 200hp to the wheels

 

i say get the B, but only because it's so cheap/free.
