d16y8 head and d15b8 bottom end

so, anyone have any advise as far as much as i would need to invest? and what cani change over to use?..

what year is the bottom end? that will be the deciding factor if you can use the b8 bottom end or not

95 hatch i believe. mainly just worried that if i use the oil pump off the d16 that way i can use the crank sensor, if it will work that way

if it's a 95, then yea you can do it. the reason he asked is because the early d15b8's only had 2 valve reliefs per piston because the d15b8 is an 8 valve engine, as opposed to 16. Later on, Honda started putting 4 valve reliefs in the D15B8 pistons, and i'm not sure but I would guess that they just put the D15B7 pistons in it and ditched the D15B8 ones so that they would only have to have one part number and not make different pistons for the two engines just because of valve reliefs.

not sure about the answer to your second question

so you think if i took off the oil pump off the d16 and put it on the d15 that i can use the crank sensor right?...

thats incorrect. the 92 and 93 b8s had the 4 valve pistons, 94 and 95 did not

i always thought it was the other way around
