my car start when it wants to sometimes. it will not crank i just bought it. i changed the o ring on the distributor because it was leaking oil bad at the bottom of the distributor and on the transmission but it is still leaking. could the distributor be the reason why my car don't start all the time?

RE: distributor
You need three things for a motor to start/run.
Compression
Fuel
Spark
Are you getting spark to the wires? Is your motor getting fuel? Run a compression test to make sure things are kosher in that department.

RE: distributor
I'd run the diagnostics like forty said, but only if it's cranking and not starting. You said it's not cranking, so I just want to clarify: Is it cranking at all? If not, then your starter or wiring is problematic.
