Might be in wrong catergory not sure but if it is please move it

Anyways I was doing an oil change this morning, to my surprise the drain plug wasnt fully fasten no biggie I thought I'll just fasten it after I am done, well I got everything drained and everything putted the drain plug nut back in and started to wrench away but it wouldnt fasten! kept on turnign and turing, looked at the bolt the treads wasnt stripped or anything, could it be the oil pan insert?
