Default Engine Oil Level???

I just got a new civic, when I check the engine oil level, it's not even have any oil on the marker, I added a bottle of 5W30, but still... just a bit black mark on the tip of the marker. anything wrong with this marker or i need to add more oil to it??? :

Did you make sure you're checking the level when the engine's cold? Is this a new car, like 2008? Or did you just mean it's new to you. There are 2 holes in the oil dipstick. The oil level should be above the lower hole on the dipstick.

Having found the oil level so low, begin checking it frequently to figure out whether the engine has a significant oil leak or is burning a lot of oil.

dito... first off get a oil change, then check it every few days..

if theres no oil on the dip stick than that oil is VERY LOW!!!!!! best to drain the oil and refill it with the right amount of oil and a new filter as well.
