From: new mexico, then mt, then alaska, now mt again...

feelin kinda stupid

ok, im feelin kinda stupid, cause i dont remember how much HP a stock 1988 honda crx HF has...i think it is only 90-100, 110 at mmost... the motor is a D15B2, SOHC, non-vtec

actually you have the D15B1. its only 62-70hp but in such a light chassis thats all it really takes. DPFI, SOHC, eight valve head. since its an 88 its only 62hp, and less reliable than later versions of the same generation later in the generation.

yeah. they were still pretty zippy to cuz those CRX's were light as hell.

i too have the D15B2 motor. only 62 hp? holy crap is there anything i can do to this motor to make it faster? its an 88 and only has 76,000 miles on it. help?

Swap it for a DOHC VTEC one

theres a b16A with trans and shiftlinkage in my classifieds for $800 also has harness and ECU(dont know if thats included in that price) around 60,000 miles on it. would that swap right into my car and is that a good deal?

no no no the D15B2 has low 92 horsepower. the B1 and B2 are similar engiens but theyre not the same. a B2 is a B1 with a 16 valve head and it flows better...giving it 25-30 more horses.
