Default FIRST ENGINE SWAP...HELP!!!!

First let me say that I'm not new to cars, but the import world is a little...different that the classic american hotrods that I am used to. This is the first Honda I've ever even looked under the hood of and I have no clue..lol. I got the car out of a trade, I traded a 1990 Pontiac sunbird convt. for a 1994 Honda Civic DX. The sunbird had a thrown rod and the Civic has a severly over heated motor. The first and foremost problem is that the cylinder walls now have demples from overheating, now I was told that since they aren't that bad I could have the block bored and get new pistons and rings this would also add hp. But I was also thinking of doing an engine swap but I have no clue were to start with that. Which would be less costly and have a better outcome? Also on a sidenote being the very creative person I am I was wondering if it is possible to put a v-6 in the civic?? But I dunno where to begin with this, please help!!!

i've said it before, and i'lll say it again, anythings possible with a little fab work.

I'd say your probably better off swapping the motor. If it was an EX or something with V-TEC, i would say to just bore it and fill it with good internals, but IMO its not worth it on a non-vtec engine.

Jackin' my sources Nail I3unny? Nah, I don't care.

But for the money, I would say your top 3 options are going to be

1) B-series swap (Which one you choose depends on whether you want to run FI or All-Motor.)
2) Full rebuild
3) C32A swap (~280 whp, and yes, that's the V6 you're looking for). But it's going to cost at least one kidney.

Thank you such much guys! And thanks for the link. The B18C sounds like a really great swap, but I don't have that much money to play with right now. So I was wondering how do you feel about the D15B?

Its not the most popular, but it's the cheapest for the amount of power you will be able to make. Go with an H22.

H22 is a cheaper motor, but a much more expensive install. I recommend an LS.

Try to throw an R18 in there. It'd definetly be the first.
