found the k20 on tigerjapanese.com for $1200...good deal? what do you guys think?

Thats the base model, thats a normal price for that engine. 160hp

 

Sounds like it's the K20a3, the base model for the RSX (not S) and the Ep3 as said above. it's only got 160hp, where the a2 has 200. K20a (JDM Civic Type R) has 220.

 

160 horsepower is still nothing to sneeze at in a light car such as a civic.

 

is it a good idea? i mean 1200$ seems better than $3000.. which is what ive been quoting for that engine. 40 hp difference or not.

 

hmmm. lemme think.

you could keep your sohc D series with 127 hp or you could upgrade to a dohc K series with 160 hp for $1200...

what do you think?

 

The A3 is cheap because it doesn't have near the potential of the A2. If you want a stock motor fine get it. If you plan to do mods don't bother.

 

in my opinion that motor would be a waste of time

very confusin this drbyers makes it seem like a good idea but maybe im misreading. then i was readin the thing on the civic forum about the d17a2 (my engine) and he turboed it pushin 374 hp??????? maybe i might be savin money with the turbo.
