Hey whats goin on i have a 91 si hatch. wondering what would be the best bang for my buck for a swap. i want to go dual cam and possibly vtec. my motor is going down hill fast with 229K on it lol but it still ruins hard and im beatn up on ex coupes. so yha any imput would help. i will also be boosting this motor by next winter.

 

Hey, welcome, Spanky. Beatin up on Ex coupes, huh? Then why don't you just find a replacement motor?

Best bang for your buck I think would be the B16, especially if you are gonna be boosting it. DOHC Vtec, and it's a wildly popular swap. Lots of support, plenty of room for it and lilttle or no fabrication needed.

I say Rock the D. But that's just me.

^well said, depending on your budget....if you have a high one id go either b16a2 or a b18 or b20...

if you have a low budget id go with a d16z6 swap.....

d-series for life

 

wrong generation. but a K20 swap will cost you an arm and a leg...but if you get the right kind and tune it right you will be very happy

as for the 91...get the ZC. i believe its a direct drop in for your car and is a LOOT cheaper than any B series

 

if your gonna be boosting it soon id think about the gsr motor.. best engine to boost imo.
