all motor apx 200whp after tuning... high would be fine if this motor will put me there but 200 would be great.

personal bro i would ussed a b16 head cuz it gives u more top ended then gsrbut i have a b20 block with a b16 head with type r cams, and aem gears and i am doing 226hp 2 the wheel, researchs shows that b16 does give u that extra top end then gsr and type r they usally give more horses,,,
yhats by ezperience but everyone has there own experiences and stories...

RE: which head?

go for the b16 type R head. it's almost identical to the b18c5 Type R head.

the b18c5 Type R head has some extra head work and detailing at the factory but for your purposes the b16 head should be more than adequate.

RE: which head?

btw, you can expect about a 40 hp gain when you mate either head onto a standard b18 LS engine block, but that's not guaranteed.

engine wear, compression and other factors come into play.

RE: which head?

The B16B, Type-R B18, and all B16 heads are made from the same cast. This means they all flow the same, and power will be the same between them assuming they have the same cams/valve train. The only differences with these heads arethat the Type-R heads have stronger valve train and more agressive cams.

This style head is superior to all other B-series heads in terms of air flow, in stock form. All other B-series heads require porting to match it.
