head gasket
oh today my car started to run hot today i just replaced the radiator and upper and lower hose last week. today when i came off the free way it ran hot and the radiator was empty and it blew the top off of the resivor tank. do this sound like it could be a head gasket, and is it worth getting the head redid or try and get another motor and how much should it cost to for to get the head did

RE: head gasket
i don't think a blown head gasket would cause you to loose coolant that fast.
a few things it could be.
1. loose radiator plug
2. hoses not clamped tight enough (be careful not to clamp too tight, radiator hose ports will break)
3. idk if it would cause it to loose it that fast or even at all, but did you bleed the system correctly?
4.faulty radiator
the best thing for you to do is to refill it, and keep a close eye on it and test it out and see if you can see it leaking anywhere.

RE: head gasket
It could be head gasket as well. I had similar circumstance. Not quiet as severe though. My head gasket was blown and gasses were seeping through the head and backwards through the coolant hose and causing pressure, not allowing the coolant to flow to the head. My resivoir tank would always be extremely full after driving a little bit. Check if your upper and lower coolant hoses are both hot. With my situation, the top one was barely warm. The bottom was almost hot enough to melt (or so it felt).
