Head swap???

i have a 01 civic ex sohc vtec. i want to convert it to dohc vtec, is it possible?? i know with the older engines it was. its the d17a2. if it will work what head could i use. [&:]

Not with a head swap. You would have to change out the whole motor. And if it makes you feel any better you couldn't do it with the older motors either.

if your go-n to do a swap get a B-series

NEVER even CONSIDER putting a B into a 7th gen unless you are willing to custom build parts for the job and spend more money than it would cost to drop in a more powerful K. the only reason it should be done is for vanitys sake.

all Ds are SOHC, and its impossible to put a B head on a D block. you need to swap the whole engine.
