Default hello everyone new member here with a question

i have a 96 civic ex D16Y8 engine its knocking pretty bad but i also have a D16Y7 with low miles. have both engines and trannies out so heres the problem. wiring harness under hood on 96 won't plug up to D16Y7 distributor the d16y8 has a 9 wire dist. and thed16y7 has a 8 wire plug. tried switching wiring harnesses but y8 has 4 plugs inside car. and the y7 has 3. well it has 4 but 1 stays in the car. would appreciate any info you could offer

click "post reply" not "fast reply" then click on the link that says upload pics, or whatever it says. then a small window will pop up and you can browse your comp to find the pic. and click the embed pic in post box too.
