Help with 93 teg
i have a buddy who has a 1993 integra and he was doing valve job and with his in-experianced tighted them all the way, and drove it. then he went to autozone got a feeler gauge and set instake to 10 and exhaust to 12, and then there was a ****load of chattering water comin out exhaust, and oil sounded like a subaru/volkswagon. Then he went and set the intake to 6 and the exhaust to 8 cause he didnt have a 7. but point being i think he bent a guide rod? or push rod? something of the sort anyone cna help with the chattering? he ran his car with a drop of oil in it for like 400 miles the idiot. i pulled dipstick out when it was bone cold and there was alittle sprinkel on end of dip stick./

The valve lash job gone wrong probably trashed the valves and possibly the pistons, not to mention other damage caused by running the engine without oil. The need to replace the engine seems almost inevitable in my opinion.

well it sounds like he did his valve lash completely wrong not to mention warm when it should be cold(engine), but I suppose you will just have to see what damage was done pull the head but it will likely need to be at the least completely rebuilt if he ran it with nearly no oil for so long.
