Default Honda Oil Filter

I'm going to change my own oil soon and I had a question. My mom's friend is a mechanic and he told me that I should get the Honda Oil Filter even though its more money because it has a check valve (one way valve) which will make sure the engine always has oil in it. Just wondering what you think about this and what other company filters have check valves also?

i'm not really an oil filter fanatic, but any oem, hamp, or k&n filter will work fine. i mean, come on, almost all honda mechanics are going to recommend their product over anything else, it's just engraved in their brain somehow.

He's not a honda mechanic though, he's a mechanic for FedEx. He works on the big jets at the airport. How much more expensive is a honda filter?

an oem honda filter isn't any better than a fram. but a hamp or a oem s2000 filter is the ones to get.

hamp is the best, but an oem filter is a lot better than most frams. frams quality is quite low imo compared to the price. not that it will make a huge impact.

not always true. for certain parts they will because they know it'll fit properly and whatnot, but for things such as filters, they dont really care. not like their being payed to rep Honda parts..

Honda Genuine filters are only like $5-6 at the dealership. i use the Honda filters because i've never had a problem with em, dunno anyone whos had a problem with em,and i get them for free..
