i was doing a little internet searching about oil filters and hondas. found these 2 sites. its pretty interesting seeing what the inside of honda factory filters looks like compared to a fram.

Wow, I just read both articles. When they showed the filters taken apart just looking at the pic alone of the Fram filter looks shady. I just put a Fram filter on my car a couple months ago....Next time i'll look into those Hamp's.

 

don't bother with the hamp. get the s2000 filter, its cheaper and you won't have to wait six weekes for it. they are the same

 

I thought they were bigger? In the first article they say the bigger ones are better, but would it fit on my civic?

 

Filtech used to be the manufacturer of Civic filters also, and they were great. I wannasay... all through the 80s and early-mid 90s. Then Honda gave the contract to fram, who made ****. There are tons of these comparisons around the internet. Good find though, I will pick those S2000 filters up when I run out of my current stock.

 

so does that mean s2000 oil filters? i read it a few times and am not understanding. or does the s2k filter only fit certain engines

 

yes the s2000 filter will fit. and it is the equivlent to a hamp oil filter. so its really good stuff.

 

so if i go to autozone and ask for an s2k filter...is it going to cost a ton...or do i need to get this filter from the dealer?

 

OEM s2k filters run about $7-9 from dealers
