RE: How do i know?
if you are in Canada then you have a D16Y7 non vtec. only the Si has the D16Y8 in Canada and the SiR has the B16A2.... we get over charged for everything

RE: How do i know?
ORIGINAL: GEMZ thanks for the help and it is d16y8 and when i hit abaut 5800rpm i do fell like the car gets lighther and the ****ing gets smother |
RE: How do i know?
You should be able to hear it kick in at 5500 RPM. If you look at the upper left side of the cylinder head, you should see the vtec solenoid. Also, the throttlebodyis mounted sideways on the vtec, and vertical on non vtec.

ORIGINAL: Fiirkan if you are in Canada then you have a D16Y7 non vtec. only the Si has the D16Y8 in Canada and the SiR has the B16A2.... we get over charged for everything just for future refrence guys...make sure anyone who asks this question is either in the US or driving a JDM or USDM car. EDM and canadian civics only have vtec if they are Si's. (aussies might have vtec in their EX's too...doubtful tho) |
RE: How do i know?
Haha, on my 99' it came with vtec on the valve cover, but when I put another block and head in there, it wasn't on there.. Gahh, I miss it.
