O.k. I have a d16y8 in my 2000 coupe ex. But I have a b18a1 swap out of my old integra I was thinking about swapping the engines and stuff out. But I want to build the b18a1 first and put a diff. head on it. What head does everyone reccomend for this swap and what amount of hp u think it will put out at the base?

 

probably around 130hp

 

even with a vtec head bc i know the bhp on a stock b18a1 is 130 so it has to have more than that if i put a vtec head on it.

 

130 Bhp and 130Whp are two different things. with 130bhp you're only putting down around 105ish. So tossing the vtec head and a few basic goodies on is only going to get you up around 130Whp

 

ok i thought rice was talking a bhp do you by any chance what a stock d16y8 is putting to the wheels?

 

Sorry your wrong, I have never seen a ls/vtec that is properly tuned put down less than 150ish whp and around 120ish wtq.

 

So a ls/vtec swap will put down about 150 whp maybe more. Also what head do you reccomend puting on my b18a1 block and any sites on how to do a ls/vtec swap in a 2000 civic ex coupe

 

Use a B16A head and intake manifold, also strap a GSR transmission on it
