I NEED MORE POWER OUTTA MY D17A2

RE: I NEED MORE POWER OUTTA MY D17A2
About $1100 for the full exhaust, $1750 for the IM swap and fuel system upgrade, so close to $3000 if not a lil more. I don't know the specific values and I broke a couple things during the IM swap and had to replace them. Those figures don't include the pulleys, which are another $300. Doing the IM sway gave me a return fuel line though, you can add the return fuel line without swapping your IM, there's a write-up on 7thgencivic somewhere about that.

yea but the D17s stock bottom end wont come close to handling anything near 200+ horsepower......
honestly i think swapping a k20 in a 7th gen is VERY unique.....ive never seen one other then in mags and such...that would make a helluva sleeper....and k20s love boost, swap in the K20, save a little longer and run like 5 or 6 pounds of boost on a nice tune and ull be making more power than u know what to do with

By bottom end do you mean crankshaft? bc I plan on replacing rods/pistons/pins/rings. And I'm sorry but I disagree K20 in a 7th gen isn't very unique, 7thgencivic has quite a few of them, and it's the only engine (besides K24) that will legally go in. Building a D17 is unique bc no one is doing it, not fully built anyway. Farthest I've heard of one being taken is valvetrain upgrade w/ stage 2 cam and EMS, and he couldn't get his EMS to work so switched to a Greddy.

i think he means because of the ****ty bore/stroke ratio plus the fact that FI is really the only way to get much power out of these engines. the bores are the same between most D's...including the D17...is 75mm...but to achieve the extra .1 liter of displacement it adds half a cm or so to the stroke. the d15 is considered the most ideal D for boosting just because the bore/stroke ratio (75x84.5)...but when you change the stroke by as much as a full centemeter it becomes very unstable.
that aside, d17 rods are **** anyway.

sorry to hear you changed your mind and took the easy way out... it makes babies cry when you give in and take the easy way out. dont do it man, think about the babies! I do realize that not everyone is as inventive as i am so i understand if you gotta boost it. Keep us up to date on what you end up doing.
