I spent $450 replacing water pump & timing belt? why??
Firstly, I just got this auto civic 1996 lx and just realized that it dirt cheap to actually replace the motor with a newone. So then, y do we bother replacing the water pump and timing belt when we can just buy a new enginez for a little more? Noob question!
Secondly, having spent and replaced timing belt and water pump, Im thinking I should just Mini-me my DI6y7, for a bit of performance enhancement
Or
should I save and buy a b series motor?
&
will and b-series engine fit my 1996 civic lx ?

the motor you put in isnt usualy brand new, its probably already about half the way to needing the new waterpump and belt plus it is a little easier to change a water pump than it is to swap an engine.

you can do it yourself to save money, but after your first time doing it, you will see why dealership charges you so much in labor.. Honestly, after a couple times, aint no thing.

If u wait too long to do the T belt, it could snap on u. Snapping T belt means Bent Valves. A new head is much more than a new T belt...........you can say no to the new T belt and water pump, but when the top of ur motor blows up, youll be sorry.
