What is a knock sensor, my check engine light is on and i took it to the auto parts store and the little test they did said it was a bad knock sensor, It is going to cost 140.00 to get the part. Does any one know about these things? Can i drive it with a bad knock sensor or will it hurt my engine? please help me

 

you can drive it like that, but its not really a good idea. it will set off a check engine light, and that puts your car into safe mode, which uses a preset table of AF ratios. so basically, youll lose a lot of power, and your mileage will go into the crapper.
