misfire ????
ok guys i just got done turboing my d15b7 , and she has been running great but the other day i was driving it and my hase from my iac broke and i lost my coolant , and she got hot [&:]so i was not to far from home , and i stopped to let her cool down and see why and what i could do . i cut the end of the hose and put it back on the iac but i know i was low on coolant but she was cooled down so i started home again but she got hot again ! i was able to shut her off and coast in to my drive then pushed it to the garage. i added coolant and let her cool then started up and everthing seemed good . now i ran a commpression test on the motor and i got 155psi on 1, and 157psi on 2 ,153psi on 3, and 160psi on 4.i drove her today after about 3 day of taking it easy on her since she got hot , and i got on her a little seemed good but when i got home she was misfiring on number one ? i pulled the plug and i think it might be burning water so i think the headgasket is bad , now i had a civic do this before after i changed a headgasket and found that i did not have it tight and when i retighted it it was ok ,so i tried this but no change . i got new plug wires ,plugs, distributor cap and rotor. still no change , i also changed the fuel filter and a injector , it was clogged from dirty fuel . now when i let it cool it does not misfire but when it warmsup it misfires , do you guys think that it still could be the headgasket , i dont use coolant and i dont see any in the oil , but could it be leaking ? and causing it to foul out the plug? any help would be great, thanks hugh
well i took the head off and the headgasket was blown . i flat ruled the head and block and all seems fine , as far as a crack i will find out tomarrow when the flow check it
then i will put on my 2mm headgasket that i just got ordered tonite and it should be overnited so it should be here by friday so i can be racing by sat
