I think he should look for 10:1 or 11:1 compression pistons since he wants to stay NA. Also look into the top end as well. You could benefit from some new valves, springs, retainers, and a stage 1 or stage 2 cam. If go with a stage 3 you will prolly have lots of driveability problems. If you don't run too high a compression ratio (like 10:1) you could also run nitrous for the track.

Hi

Sorry to jump in,

But im thinking of upgrading my 1.6 vti as well, but I got stung on my insurance so if i did id have to keep "on the down low"!!!, (if you know what i mean).

Say I did upgrade interals of my engine how easy would it be 2 spot in the case of a accident?...

lol you can upgrade your car without telling insurance company, they just cover the cost of your car before the upgrades.

back on topic, if i was going n/a, i would go i/h/e and stage 1 cam, gear, rings, retainers and a tune then leave it.. thatll be a pretty quick car and a fun one to drive.
