Default Motor Swap?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the import market and have a couple of quick questions. I'm the proud owner of ChaoticSpeed in Louisville KY and were currently racing a 88 Pontiac Fiero with a supercharged 3800 series 2 motor and its hard to find a good race around my area with passes in the mid 9's. So we decided to find a good import to build and we started building a 2JZ TT Supra but it was recently stolen from the body shop who we had painting our car. So we sat down at the drawing board and decided to go with a CRX which I have always liked since I got interested in imports. Here is the hard part.....What year and model would be the best car to start with? And what motor swap would be the best to do? The plans for the car is strictly street racing! From the shop to the trailer and to the spot where we will be racing. And money is not an issue here so let me hear what you got to say guys and gals!

OMG. "Money is not an issue." You guys wanna sponsor me?

Anyway, if you cn't find any good races, then get creative and go with the D series and make it a monster. You guys are obviously going to go FI, right?

Don't you get more concessions competetively if you build the motor that came in the car?

Be original... Rock the D.

If it were me, I would probably start with a '90 or '91. And wow, if money's not an issue, I can definitely think of some good drag motors. Spoon B16A with a T28 seems to be a popular choice. F20C/F22C with a RWD conversion. SR20DET red top from a Pulsar GTI-R, again with a RWD or AWD conversion. For something more realistic, maybe a bulletproof GSR with a B16 head and a T3/T04B with a custom trim @ around 18 or 20 psi. Maybe a K20A2 (Type R). For all motor, you could bore a C5, resleeve it, and go from there. There's just so many possibilities when you have money... I'll probably have to come back and add some more.

I've done a little work and its either gonna be between these: K20, B16, H22, B18. I'm leaning toward the H22 but I don't know exactly what year and model CRX to get.

I forgot... welcome to the forum.

Not that you need a write up, but Honda Tuning just swapped a K20 into a CRX (Sept/05). Maybe you wanna check that out.
