new engine

Hey everyone proud new owner of a 94 civic and was looking to get some power out of it but i have heard that swapping the engine to a more powerful one is not that hard, just wondering which engine would be best and can still bolt up to my manual tranny, thanks guys.

Looks like good info but not sure how to read it lol. do you know which engine will bolt to a stock 94 manual tranny?

lets see if i can help you with reading that page

your 94 civic presumably falls into this category (assuming you have a US market car instead of a Japanese domestic):

5G ’92-’95 Civic Si USA EG/EH D16Z6 1590 9.2:1 125hp@6600/106lb-ft@5200

So your car's Chassis number starts with either the EG or the EH. Your engine is a D16Z6. It produces 125 peak (brake) horsepower and 106 ft-lbs peak torque. These two numbers are what you'd want to compare with other engines to get a measure of what sort of change you'd see.

I *THINK* that any D series engine will bolt up to (almost) any other D series transmission. You should wait for someone to verify this or shoot me down before you go out to buy your parts though :D If that's indeed the case, then you could drop almost any D series engine into your chassis, bolt it down, and you'd be good to go.

so would there be anyway for a h22a to fit in and bolt down?

it looks like it's possible, but it won't be an easy swap. You'll have to do more research to find out what you need to do

yeah but it's a lot of work. The B-series engines are an easier swap, you'd need a B-series transmission though.
