oil pan

Default oil pan

i have a 98 honda civic ex vtec ...im going to be replacing my oil pan in a few days...i was just wondering what the proper procedure on replacing the oil pan and gasket was.

just let the oil drain out for like an hour so you get as much out of it as posible so you have less of a mess.... you will have to probably have to remove the flywheel bottom cover to get to the 2 nuts behind it in order to remove the oil pan.... Get a new gasket or else you will be sry, also right were the oil pan dips down on the oposite sides of each other put some liquid gasket right on the bends were they start to turn downwards or else that is were the oil pan is gonna leak first... and then reinstall the oil pan and tighten everything evenly and snuggly and you should be golden..
