and they overbore to up displacement for torque, since the short strokes give them almost none otherwise. that and it unshrouds the valves, which gives huge gains.

I don't think bore affects the ability to rev. Actually I would think a smaller bore could rev higher. Bore is just for power. Short stroke does allow higher revs though.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually, if you have a bigger bore you will have bigger pistons. If you have bigger pistons, you have heavier pistons. Heavier pistons have more inertia, and thus do not like to change direction. This lowers the revs. I don't think its that good an explanation, but its the best i got. Think diesel, they have huge pistons that weigh a ton and its not uncommon to see a diesel with a 3500RPM redline.

the diesel redline isnt from piston size though, it has to do with a weird cam profile and a weird valvetrain. its too complicated to get into right now. you have a point, but if you have a short stroke, theres less piston speed, so you can get away with a heavier piston. its easier to move a heavier one slower than a light one really fast.

How much does it cost to sleeve a car... is it necessary to sleeve a k20 if I want to run a turbo as well?

whats with all these sleeving and deck questions this weekend?

sleeving can cost anywhere from 400 up to 1500 depending on the parts, shipping, labor, etc.

It would depend on the style of sleeve you get.

Open deck style is cheaper........Going with a closed deck would cost more.
