hey i know this is a dumb question but where are some good places to go and get a motor for a resonable price
i want a b16 or a zc and i dont really want to spend more than 2K then what should kind of bolt ons should i add too that???
also this is going into a 91 si hatch

 

SIR-I B16A from Sunrise JDM will only run you $1,199 for a full swap (engine, tranny, ECU, both manifolds, dizzy, alternator, starter, power steering pump, all sensors, clutch, flywheel, & pressure plate).

what about a rsx motor how difficult would that be cause i was talkn it over with a friend tonight

 

k20 is a sik engine.. but if you only got 2 g's, it aint happenin (costs about 40% of the parts you cost to install, unless you can do yourself.. shops vary from 800-1500 for it..) that b16 on sunrise jdm is 89-91 which im pretty sure is the oldest model b16, thats y its so cheap.
you may want to check out http://www.hmotorsonline.com they got a good deal on the 92-93 integra XSI motor (same specs as the b16, and ive heard its bored to 1.7 liters and thats y it isnt called a b18) or if you want a 2000 si engine (newest) then i could get you one 2750 shipped (same as the 92-95 b16's on hmotors).

but if you flopped a type r in that hatch.. with stock lsd, damn man.. low 13s perhaps hi 12s.. with a b16 your lookin at mid low 14s.

o.. and kappa.. do those swaps on sunrise come with axles and everything? and is shipping included in the cost? if so then those prices might end up better

 

Don't try to do a K20 in a 4G hatch. It wouldn't be worth the time or the money if you compared it to something like a GSR swap.

The reason I suggested the SIR-I is that it's from the fourth generation JDM SI's, so it's going to be the easiest B-series to swap into your car (as in, pretty much a drop-in). Also, it's the cheapest.

But if you want to go with an SIR-II or SIR-III (which would be a bitch since it's OBD-2), it's still cheaper through Sunrise. I would recommend staying with the SIR-I, but if you want to go newer, go with the SIR-II.

SIR-II: $1,799 for a full swap

SIR-III: $2,599 for a full swap

EDIT: By full swap, I mean Engine, Manual Tranny, ECU, Intake and Exhaust Manifolds, Dizzy, Alternator, Starter, PS Pump, All Sensors, Clutch, Flywheel, and Pressure Plate

 

thanx man i'll keep that in mind im just lookn for a good swap that will put down some good numbers and will also benifit me when i decide to go boost next summer

 

If you're driving this car daily, and you're looking to boost it, I would stay away from B16A's. It's pretty pricey to get them to hold boost well (I'm not saying you can't run boost on them stock, but you can't run very much), and the high CR plus the low displacement makes for a rough ride. But if you've got the money, go for it. I would still recommend an LS or GSR though.

 

go with a d16z6 swap.....it'll cost you like 600 max and that way you'll have money for other bold ons such as exhaust, cold air intake, or a header

Yeah, but if he's boosting it in less than a year, 1) I would say a header would be a bad investment (expecially if he's looking to save money) and 2) a GSR will hold more boost (especially with a B16 head), hold it better, and put out way better numbers with less money. If you want a cheap engine that's good for boost, don't go with a D-series, go with an LS. It'll only run you like $700 or $750, and it'll still put the D to shame.
