Default Question what do i got?


This is our 1998 honda civic ex and was wounding if anyone could tell me what type of motor this is i know its a 4 cylinder and possibly what i can do to her more less my options thanks

There's a guide on this website. With that said, it looks like D16y7, not the factory engine for the EX trim which typically came with the D16y8 engine. Main difference between the two is that the y8 has VTEC, and the y7 does not. Anything possible with enough money. What are you looking to to do with the vehicle?

Well theres a few dings i gotta fix but i would like more power to it was told it has a master flow exhaust so its lil on the loud side n vibrates the whole car dunno why that is either...shes a five speed idk what sum of my options are in what i can do

Sounds like you have a bunch of research in front of you. These cars have been around for 30+ years. The good news is that out of all car "groups" I've been in (currently I'm a Miata driver), the Honda/Civic world has the most documentation and how-tos.
