questions on my mini me swap on my 93 ex
 

well im new here just bought me a 93 ex 4door and i had it 4 bout a week and it started rod knocking it was a d16y6 vtech and im at the point where the engine is rdy to come out just got tha axels to do.well anyway i bought a d15b7 block for 75 bux off one of my buds i checked it out.. internals are good i was told this way ima make more power out of the d15b7 with my d16 vtech head is this true or what im all bout power in its cheapest forum ya kno ive got a cam rdy to go in it obx stage1 im wondern how much it make with the mini me swap?with and with out the obx cam....thanx all.

anybody wanna help a newbie out lol this is only the second honda that ive owned wanna kno wat im looking at in hp and tq in this mini me swap?

I didn't bring any hate. You obviously don't understand how this works.

The D16Y6 only exists in New Zealand. Maybe you meant D16Z6 or D16Y8. Which one is it?


P.S. it's VTEC, not vtech.

And again back to my main question....again.What kinda power does a mini me make?

I don't know if I would recommend using the OBX cam, they don't make very good products. I'm not sure of the power gain with the cam.

Without the cam you should be around 125 BHP, like a regular D16Z6. The raised compression makes up for the difference in displacement.

well i found it off a guy for 100 bux havent bought it yet tho.whats a good cam for it...if u dont mind me asking?

Crower makes good cams. There's others, I don't remember many off the top of my head at the moment.

you kno how much crower will run me?

You should have about the same amount of power as you did with the old engine
And for the cam just go to the website of the people who make it. They normally have power ratings

you dont really need a new cam ther z6 cam is already more agressive then the d15b7..... i just got done with the b7 to z6 mini me swap in my 89 crx si... it made quite the diffrence.....but i dont have a p28 comp so its still non vtec for now....do you kno what all components u need for a mini me swap?? i thought it was gunna be easy but its not as easy as ppl make it sound....

well i alrdy had everything that was needed for the mini me swap p28 ecu ex-trany d16z6 vtec head mines almost done just need to do a few lil things but the only thing i really did was get my head worked pulled the oil jet outa the block and bought a 98ex head gasket and bought the d15b7 block 4 75bux.

The only thing i really kno that u need is the p28 ecu and if u didnt pull the oil jet out of ur block ur vtec want work even if u do get the ecu.

well ur gunna need the d16 timing belt but u need the d15 tensioner... i didnt take the oil jet out but i dont care if the vtec ever works i just drive it nice now.... its got to many miles to mess around... save for a full h22 swap....any questions about the mini me let me know..
