SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
I have a 94 honda civic withstock v tech, I blew the motor and came across a Acura LS 1.8 DOHC motor. My problem is, its not a V tech. But I am getting for $1500. installed. and it has low miles. Would it be worth it, and what kind of performance can I get out of it.

RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
it'd be faster then a sohc. and you can always swap the head on it

RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
^ +1.Swap the head and you'llhave a good platform to work off of.
and it's V-TECnot v-tach;) |
RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
i'de put that down the road a while. i'de get the motor init first

RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
its not a bad idea if you could find a dohc vtec swap that in since you are already wired in for vtec, but the ls is a very good platform to work with, just slap in the harness and computer and away you go

RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
IfI do put in the 1.8 DOHC do I need to change the clutch and tranny or will mine work? Its a stage2 clutch with a stock trannyand I really dont want towaste it because its new. My stock motor is aSingle cam V tech, does that affect it. AndIs ittrue that its harder to put a turbo on a DOHC V tech than a non v tech?

RE: SHOULD I GO FROM STOCK TO LS 1.8
you need a b-series trans. none of the SOHC stuff will bolt up.
DOHC vtec and non vtec are almost identical. minus some things. but no its the same to turbo either or |
