i have a '98 civic ex....not sure what the series is on it, but i wanted to swap it with a 88-93 civic si engine....what are the b numers on these.....also what is your input on what i sould do to get more hp?

i have headers, hi flow cat, cat back, short shifter, cold air, aem pulleys, dropzone coils.......that is what i have now....

please help

 

do you want a dohc vtec? there are a couple of different motors in 88-93 SIs, and both of them have less power than yours. i think youre looking for a DOHC VTEC.[sm=smiley20.gif]

im pretty sure its a d16y8 motor thats v-tec......mmm....v-tec......lol anyways umm yeh the 88-93 motors are non-vtec which means less hp. to be honest cause im an honest guy if anything to do to the car you should boost it. a swap is also a good idea but you know i think boosting would be good 4 u

 

If you swap you should go a little newer at least to get a hydrolic tranny

yeah, i thk he was just trying to exclude the 88-91s.
