timing belt
Hey you all I need a new timing belt. I'm also throwing on my cam gear at the same time so I need an upgraded belt also. If you can send me a link. That would be great. I will be returning home back to Texas in a couple of months. If not sooner.

make sure to get a HONDA timing belt. I was going to do mine myself, but i found a shop that will do it for 200 bucks. If it costs 200 to stay outta the cold, then so be it lol. |
RE: timing belt
you could get a nice aftermarket strong greddy one from...
http://inlinefour.com/gredtimbel.html its a little pricy but im sure it will last longer than the oem belt, but dont hold me to that, just another option |
RE: timing belt
i need a belt for a D16y8 would a d16z work or what.
|
RE: timing belt
i actualy dont know, what i would do is call a honda dealership and ask them if the two belts are the same....
|
RE: timing belt
just go to honda and get the belt and watter pump and also change your watter pump at the same time
|
RE: timing belt
ok, im pretty sure both belts are 106 tooth, so either should work. if you want to spring for a kevlar reinfoced Greddy belt, let me know. they are pretty expensive though, and youll probably never need the extra strength.

RE: timing belt
So it doesnt matter if its a d16z or d16y. I want to be sure before I order it and then it dont fit. You know so I dont have to waste my money on something.

RE: timing belt
According to the Honda Dealer here - It is one in the same.

RE: timing belt
Yep, they are the same size timing belt, but the cam gears are different. Make sure you get the one for your motor or your cam timing will be off.
