I'll be honest, I think that it was a rip off.

But, at least you have a Honda. 95 is an exceptionally good year for Civics, and I know that my Civic had 288,000 miles before I sold. I also had an Accord with 309,000 miles before it died. 170,000 miles is a lot, but if you take care of that car, it should go a while longer.

Just keep an eye on everything. As long as it's not burning excessive oil, and everything in the drivetrain is functioning properly, I wouldn't worry about it.

I've read of civics breaking 400k without much fuss.

i have had my 94 ex for about 2 months now and love the hell out of it. it has 130,000 miles and i boutght it for $2,500. The only things wrong on it are a fading paint job, the sunroof won't open, and it get 40 miles to the gallon when it is supposed to get 32 MPG

¡No preocupe! Tengo 118kmiles en mi coche y yo espero poner acerca de 300kmiles en lo. Usted necesita no ser muy duramente en su coche. No "red line" siempre y llene como eso. arrepentido, mi español no es muy bueno....

now in english..

Don't worry! I have 118k miles on my car and I expect to put at least 300k miles on my car. You need to not be hard on your car. Don't red line all the time and stuff like that. sorry, my spanish isn't very good...
