tried evrything and still sputtering

i had a similar problem with my integra the rotor screw that holds it on backed off so the rotor was wobbling and causing it to sputter just a suggestion

i went to autozone and was talking to the guy there and he said it sounds like the catalytic converter so i got it cut off and running a straight pipe. it helped the sputtering while accelerating but the rpm's still drop low when idling. it goes up and down btwn 200 and 800. i ordered a magnaflow cat and a tanabe catback exhaust (got shipped today). i'm going to buy a timing light to fix the timing because my bother was playing around with it to see if it can fix the problem and it did a little. oh and the rotor screw wasn't loose.

that's like 1/8 of a step above ebay knock offs

really? i thought they were a good brand. and i like their muffler tip (the medalion touring). other brands have that big round coffee can tip but. whats wrong with tanabe exhausts?

nevermind i was thinking a different brand
yea i looked at their stuff, looks nice

Usually, a clogged catalytic converter will cause a loss of power. Is this what you meant when you described the problem as engine sputtering?

-Clean the IACV and fast idle valve on the throttle body.
-Look for an intake air or vacuum leak.
-Bleed the cooling system of possible trapped air.

To set the ignition timing, you need to place a jumper wire on the service connector (just like retrieving CEL codes), and the engine must be warm and idling to spec.

ok so i was doing the timing and when i jumped the connector and i got a code 7 (7 flashing lights) from the CEL, which is the tps sensor. so i unplugged it this morning and the idle steadied out. so i'll change that next.

Was the ignition timing OFF?

A bad TPS could be a major contributor to your problem. I think the old TPS needs to be drilled out for removal (inexpensive) or the entire throttle body must be replaced (expensive).
