RE: turbo'ing D16Z6
you need charge pipes(from turbo to intercooler, then to the throttlebody) and some sort of engine manegement. you have lots of options there but only one good one in my opinion. chipped ecu

RE: turbo'ing D16Z6
is the chipped ECU just to change the fuel ratio?
and is it a persific chip just for turbo application?
and ive heard im going to needMAP sensor bypass (but if all it does is turn the engine management light off i wont bother) a boost controler, fuel pressure regulator, inline fuel pump.

you have to program the chip to meet your setup. it does a lot more than just change the fuel. you can also adjust ignition and quite a few other things and you can data log which makes tuning easier.
if you go with a chipped ecu then you dont need a map bypass valve. my only reccomendation is chipping your ecu. if someone else wants to explain afc's and fmu's thats fine but i think thats just a blown engine wating to happen

so something like a vtech controller wont be suitable then.
and if i get the chip i wont need the rest of the stuff (e.g. boost controller, fuel pump ect.)
because irl be able to program it all on the chip?
coul you list a few chip brands so i know what to look for?

RE: turbo'ing D16Z6
go to pgmfi.org. and read, read, read. the chipcant control boost. it only controls the engine. you will still need a fuel pump and different injectors cause the stock parts cant flow enough fuel.
what are your power goals? are you using a completely stock engine? if i know that i can give you a better list of things

yea, the only things i have done so far is a buddyclub pro spec exhaust and AEM short ram intake.
i have been looking at cam, inlet mani, throttle body. but just decied to get as much power as i could for my budget.
i was looking at around 70-80 bhp. but i dont know if thats possible on a stock engine without it going pop.
can i use the injectors and fuel pump off an h22 or any bigger engine than mine?

the h22 has the same injectors as your car. but the turbo eclipse has 450cc injectors that would be good for your goals. they can be put in almost as easy as replceing with stock honda injectors.
my recomendation for what you want would be to get DSM 450's, go to xenocron.com and get a chipping kit either get some mandrel bends and make your own intercooler pipes or just get one of those cheap ebay kits, and a walbro 255lph fuel pump.
that should keep you happy for a little while as long as those chinese parts you have listed will hold up. you will alwyas want more though

ok, i can get the charge pipe no problem, but im finding it difficult to find the injectors and fuel pump from a UK retailer.
and i looked at the chip but had no idea which one i need for the mods i want to do.
the hardware i listed cost £555, a full turbo conversion will cost me £2300.
is it worth just saving up for the full conversion, or will this way be cheaper in the long run?
heres a link for the full conversion.

RE: turbo'ing D16Z6
you get get the same power for half of the prce if you piece something together. my first turbo setup was $500us and i was keeping up with v8's
as far as the chipping kit you need the one for your ecu. it doesnt matter what mods you have or plan to make with a chipped ecu you can program it to run. i am assuming you have a p28 ecu since you are wanting to turbo a d16z6. this is the kit you will need http://www.xenocron.com/catalog/chip...cus-p-126.html
it is very easy to install if you have moderate soldering abilities.
you could save yourself some trouble by just ordering the kit, but i would rather piece mine together so i cna use all good parts rather than what they think you need. its really up to your abilities and available tools as to which option is best for you and really only you can make that desicion
