If your engine has a V-tech, will it always say that it has one on top of the engine?

I heard a 6 Gen civic EX 1.6L D16Z engine is known as a V-tech 2. But I don't believe that I have a v-tech. I NEED TO KNOW!!!

I am here to castrate you.

And the Z6 is the 5th gen.

The vtec plugs will be toward the front of the valve cover

that spark plugs toward the front only applies to 5th gen. on 6th gen, all of them are toward the front. just take a pic of the motor, pretty close up if you can, and post it and we'll let you know if its vtec or not.

but just curious, why do you "NEED TO KNOW!!!!"? its not going to be faster just because you "know" its vtec, or slower because you know its not.

First off, my bad meant vtec. Also, my camera is being retarded. Sorry. Also, about me saying "I NEED TO KNOW!!!", I just put that to get attention to my question and a thought it would be pretty cool havin a vtec (especially since I didn't think I did). It's not a big deal. (Also, I'm new to all this so forgive me if I said or say something stupid). But the Acura/Honda Performance Handbook says I have a 127hp 1.6L SOHC 16valve Vtec2( which apperently is a remodeled D16Z ). I have a 98 EX. It's just confusing. No big deal if no one knows. Thanks for all the input.

You could always put a VTEC sticker on your car and paint VTEC on your valve cover. (Just be sure to use high temperature paint.)
