Default Wait, Wait, Wait...

I thought i had a connecting rod bearing going out in my 97' Civic EX but i just drove my friends fathers 00' Civic and it makes the same noise, even louder (my friends dads Civic has 170,000 miles and mine has only 112,000 miles). Are there any D16 owners out there that have higher mileage and experience engine noise? Do D16's have engine noise that sounds odd? Thanks

what KIND of engine noise though? I want to know if higher mileage D-series motors make more-than-average noise.

tapping noise. you usually find this kind of noise in Mitsu engines...but we don't have lifters so I don't exactly know where it was coming form

My Y8 has a little bit of noise from the valve train. Alot of cars do. Usually not a big concern. You should hear my 94 Explorer! That thing is horrible. Tick Tick Tick Tick. I need a new car to drive in the winter!

get the valve lash adjusted, it should be done every so often on hondas. also if you have an intake it will make the valvetrain sound a little bit louder too don't know why
