I'm looking for everyones oppinion on the five best ways to improve basic HP.

I know that this has many variables... what car.... what engine... what is your goal... all that jazz. I'm just looking for the five ways, in general, to take a stock car, any import or muscle car, and make it faster.

Basically what would you tell a guy who just got a new ride and wanted to do five things to increase HP with no expectations... he pretty much just wants to do it so the car won't be stock anymore and then maybe later he might do more to it.

Pretty easy....

 

I/H/E, N2O, Valvetrain/Cam upgrade.

Thats prolly the 5 cheapest ways to increase HP, but not the best. The best would be pistons, rods, sleeves, turbo, ecu. Bear in mind that it will be very expensive to install those five.

first off im with agent and forty

second is that you jumping your civic in your signiture? when you landed did it bend anything under the car or mess up the alignment at all?

 

....and people wonder why I'm so weary about buying used cars[&:]

 

engine swap, pistons/rods, turbo, exhaust, TUNE

 

I would just do the I-H-E mods than I would get an under drive pulley and adjustable cam gear.

 

underdrive pulleys + ajustable cam valves + stock engine + I/H/E = big waste of money. thats easily 1.5k and for that you could get a good turbo setup.
