Ok, I have a 95 si and I wanna do an engine swap and boost it. I don't have a lot of money so I don't have a lot of options. What would be better to boost, a non vtec b18ls motor, or a jdm d15b vtec? I know vtec engines are higher compression, so is it bad to boost em? how many pounds of boost could i run on those motors? Which one would give me more preformance? holla back!

 

I would do the b18. Even though a vtec would be better I would do the b18 because of its displacement

 

B18B (that's assuming the LS and the D15B are your only options...)

Dude you can put an B18C1 engine in your car the moints fit fine and youll have 170 horses stock to work with.

 

and it costs about 2x the cost of an ls swap.

 

get the gsr (b18c1) motor cause of v-tec thats it. you'll be happy

 

Lets say I do the b18ci swap and decide to boost it later. How much boost can i run stock?

 

im pretty sure about 12-15psi...
