whats better?
i am going to keep asking questions on whether i should get a b18 non v-tech
or a b16 v-tec? someone help me please!!, and tell me which is better |
RE: whats better?
how about a b18 vtec?
|
RE: whats better?
well i would like a gsr but i am looking at 3200 for an engine swap, i know that i wouldnt mind putting it in my car but i dont have alot of cash:(
|
RE: whats better?
dude i have b18 VTEC-H and that think ROCKS. I can go up the street, and there is absolutely NO static at all.
|
RE: whats better?
It's probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Personally I would like to have vtec, but Sac run high 14's with just an intake on a B18C1.
Didnt' you say you werent gonna boost? What do you have planned for it? 1/4 mile? AutoX? What are your goals? |
RE: whats better?
i want to run 1/4 miles for track and street, preferebly track, but i want to do some courses that are in the area
|
RE: whats better?
Id go B18C1, and if you could get the B16 head on it. B16A2 is good too, and theyre both V-TEC.
|
RE: whats better?
We already answered this one for you in another post. How many times do you need to ask?
Get the B18! |
RE: whats better?
excuse me maaan, i just want the best bang for my buck if you catch my drift
i figured that it is going to cost me 3,995 for the engine swap including the motormounts and lsd tranny through jhpusa.com |
RE: whats better?
You can still ask, but you only need to ask in 1 thread! No need to start a bunch of threads with the same topic......where will you stop?
|
RE: whats better?
i will stop when i find the end of the universe!!
j/k |
RE: whats better?
$4,000 for a GSR swap is way more than you need to pay. Like I recommend to everyone, http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/honda.php. $2,700 with Engine, Transmission, ECU, Intake and Exhaust Manifolds, Dizzy, Alternator, Starter, Power Steering Pump, All Sensors, Clutch, Flywheel, and Pressure Plate
|
RE: whats better?
whoa, thats cool, that pretty damn cheap, why so cheap for the engine and tranny?
is there a catch? |
RE: whats better?
shippings prolly fairly high...its direct from japan. but its still a lot cheaper than getting a JDM B18 from an american dealer.
edit: JDM customs is a bit more expensive than sunrise JDM (3.2k on JDMcustoms, 2.7k on sunrise) but for an extra 250 bucks you get an LSD and its installed when it comes. and JDM customs comes with mounts. http://www.jdmcustoms.com/b18c028.html |
RE: whats better?
damn, thats a pretty good setup and the prices are great especially for 12 month warranty with a turnkey setup and everyting... thanks forthe info nail I3unny:D
|
RE: whats better?
Sunrise is in Canada, not Japan, so shipping won't be overseas.
|
RE: whats better?
canada? **** then shipping prolly wont be much to me...whereabouts in canada?
and im not sure on teh quality of that LSD...all iknow is for 250 bucks they will install one for you. |
RE: whats better?
I'm assuming all these sunrise prices are for parts ONLY right? They don't actually do the swap for you? For $2700 that would be insane, which is why I'm making the above assumption unless someone tells me differently.
|
RE: whats better?
Yes, parts only. And I3unny, they're in Quebec.
|
RE: whats better?
jdm customs has like free shipping and more options and looks higher quality to me tho
|
RE: whats better?
Go with a B18.
|
RE: whats better?
I got my B18C1 from sunrise jdm, no LSD though (should have looked into it), and 2 friends of mine who had done the same swap before, put it in in 2 weekends.
|
RE: whats better?
ORIGINAL: z6 FoRiLLa jdm customs has like free shipping and more options and looks higher quality to me tho |
RE: whats better?
I agree with everyone else too. B18C1 is an excellent engine.
|
RE: whats better?
B18
|
RE: whats better?
i would def get the b18 with the lsd tranny thats what i got and love it . you might want to get brand new axles and shift linkage we used one axle that came with the swap and it only lasted a couple of months... you can get them at auto zone with a lifetime warranty for like 150 a pop..
|
RE: whats better?
Yeh, even though the axles usually come with an engine swap, you're better off to buy some new ones to replace them.
