Default y8 head question

I've been one at a time buying things for a mini-me to swap to a y8. I found a kid that has a y8 head and have talked him down to under 100 shipped but he just told me that it has 2 of the studs that hold the header on broken off and seems to think that you can replace them is this true?

if they are sticking out where you can get a pair of vice grips or something on them ..yes they are all thread and will unscrew.. then just buy new bolts. how many miles are on it? have you also tried looking for a z6 head?

the z6 head is better than the y8 and especially since you already have a z6 head
the z6 has a better flow.

well it depends ... do you plan on turbo?.. daily driver ? also when you start getting into cams you also need to get the ecu tuned. and i wouldnt go no higher than a stage 1 cam unless you expect on doing a build and spending some $$$$

no turbo yes its a daily driver but i wouldn't mind spending some cash being that im buying one thing at a time and am in no hurry i would like to do a build as for now i cant get the ecu tuned because its an auto im gunna wait for the tranny to blow up then im gunna swap in the tranny from the z6

well you have a 96-00 gen and you would need the d16y8 tranny swap. the d16z6 comes from the 92-95 ex/si. to make it work you would also need the cv alxes, the complete front brake/rotor assembly. beacuse the splines are different
